With the comic-book-style ‘ZAP’ tattoo on his right arm, it transpires that the East Bowling lad is a huge comics fan, collecting them when he can, and is constantly on the doodle wherever he goes.

The One Direction superstar recently visited Marvel Studios headquarters in Los Angeles, California, to ask illustrators for advice on drawing his own characters.

Now, it seems that he’s inspired them to recreate and resurrect the former ‘Ghost Rider’ – a Marvel character created in the early 1970s.

The old ‘Ghost Rider’ is a stunt motorcyclist called ‘Johnny Blaze’ who after his death in a spectacular bike accident, strikes a deal with the devil to come back to Earth. His return is in the form of the fiery-headed Ghost Rider who tracks down evil souls.

Now the new crime-fighting character named ‘Robbie Reyes’ is a chiseled cheekboned, angry-faced version of Zayn with his former signature-style stripy hair, and has a huge passion for fast cars. He drives a souped-up motor and has a particular loathing of violent thugs and gangs.

Word is that the new superhero comic will hit the shelves later this year.
