Bradford school praised by assessors
Teachers and pupils at a primary school in Bradford have been celebrating this week after receiving a glowing reports from the education inspectors, Ofsted.
Frizinghall Primary School was found to be ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ features following a visit by officials earlier this year.
In a glowing report the Ofsted inspectors judged all areas in the Bradford Council school to be good with outstanding leadership and management and also gave the ‘school’s systems for keeping pupils safe and secure’ its top accolade.
The report says: “The inspirational headteacher is very well supported by a strong team of leaders and an excellent governing body. They have ensured that standards have risen consistently in the last three years.”
Pauline Chilvers, the ‘inspirational headteacher’ who was singled out by assessors, said it was a great achievement to see the results and all 400-plus children and staff should be proud of themselves.
Ms Chilvers said: “We are delighted with this latest report which has seen us sustain the good overall judgment since the last inspection.
“We are particularly pleased with the outstanding elements and also that ‘parents have a very positive view of the school and hold it in high regard’.
“To see a school with such a mixed community as ours succeed as well is very pleasing for our local community.”
Also highlighted in the official report was the quality of the curriculum on offer, described as ‘exciting’ and one which ‘prepares pupils well for life in modern Britain’.
The quality of the teaching was also praised, form the leadership roles to the speed of learning.
David Servant, Chair of Governors at the school, said: “I am pleased that the Ofsted inspectors have rated Frizinghall Primary a good school and recognised the achievements and progress made by the pupils.
“This has been made possible by the dedication and hard work of the headteacher , staff and governors of the school.”
Meanwhile, Cllr Ralph Berry, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Children’s Services, said it was great news for the two-form entry establishment.
“This is great news for Frizinghall Primary School and all the pupils, staff, governors, parents and the wider community who have worked so hard to bring about this positive outcome should be justly very proud,” he added.
