Panjabi Hit Squad announces the first release as a part of their forthcoming EP, ‘Divas’.
The song ‘Boohey Barian’ featuring Blory has an infectious beat, sweet vocals and a catchy melody that shows all the signs of becoming a massive hit and perfectly in time for the season of love.
Originally brought to fame by Hadiqa Kiani and Naseebo Laal, the song takes the traditional lyrics and combines them with contemporary drum beats and guitar riffs that bear all the hallmarks of the Panjabi Hit Squad sound.
The new EP ‘Divas’ releases in March 2017 and features collaborations with female voices from across the world and blends them with smooth R’n’B, Dancehall and Hip Hop sounds.
Panjabi Hit Squad delivers this project after successfully collaborating with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan on their chart-topping hit ‘Dil Mera’ and working on ‘The Break-Up Song’ from the 2016 film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’.
Rav and Dee say of the first single and working on Divas: “We’ve always been huge fans and championed female talent.
“From Ms.Scandalous to Alyssia, we wanted to create a project that highlighted the beauty of the female voice in a male dominated market.
“Working with Blory’s smooth vocals and having them against our R ‘n’B influenced beats shows that current contemporary and classic styles can work seamlessly together”.
‘Boohey Barian’ is out now on the Major Moves label and will be available on all digital outlets.
