ODEON – the UK & Ireland’s largest cinema chain – has announced it is to open a brand-new, luxury cinema at The Springs retail and leisure park, located to the East of Leeds
Set to open its doors on Thursday 11th April, ODEON Luxe Leeds Thorpe Park features 971 luxury, handmade reclining seats across 10 new cinema screens, offering film fans triple the legroom and increased personal space to ensure the ultimate in-cinema comfort.
The brand-new cinema is home to the UK’s second Dolby Cinema – the first outside London following the re-opening of ODEON’s flagship cinema, ODEON Luxe Leicester Square, in December 2018.
ODEON and Dolby have partnered to offer film fans in Leeds a truly immersive and unforgettable cinematic experience.
The Dolby Vision dual 4K laser projection system brings the story alive with spectacular, ultravivid picture, delivering twice the brightness, 500 times the contrast ratio of standard screens, blacker blacks, and an unsurpassed colour palette, all projected on a massive 19m screen for a vibrant, lifelike cinema experience like no other.
The studio-grade Dolby Atmos immersive audio system transports viewers into the film with breathtakingly realistic audio, filling the cinema with a soundscape that flows all around and above the audience. With the highest standards for technical design plus 263 Luxe recliners, Dolby Cinema brings movies to life.
Guests of the new cinema will be spoilt for choice with the very best cinematic technology, as the cinema will also boast a 173-seat ODEON exclusive iSense screen. Taller than a double decker bus, the screen itself measures 15m x 6.2m, and is curved to maximise light reflection. Guest will be dazzled by the Dolby Atmos sound and 4K digital projectors that deliver almost nine million pixels for an ultra-high definition picture.
The impressive new cinema has also created 80 new jobs in the local area, with all new team members receiving the full training and exciting career opportunities available at ODEON.
