The Bradford Hindu Council (BHC) has been delivering home made food parcels for support workers at Hollybank Trust.
The trust, based in in Mirfield, is a purpose built residential homes which provides care for around 100 adults and children with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
With care workers working round the clock under the Covid-19 restrictions, they deserve to be looked after.
With this in mind the BHC volunteers offered their services and have been carrying out yummy food drop-offs timed to fit in with Hollybank’s staff shift patterns.
Harkishan Mistry, who’s been doing deliveries said: “A big thank you to all our volunteers. Sewa (act of compassion and care) is at the hearty of our culture.
“We’ve provided 90 home cooked meals for the Support workers at Hollybank Trust, and we’ve got more planned in.
“The food is a thank you from the Hindu Community for the fantastic work done by all the staff at the Mirfield site over the last seven weeks.”
