Yorkshire has welcomed a new branch of a leading ethnic food supermarket chain, with the opening of Worldwide Foods in Leeds.
Renowned for their extensive range of international groceries, Worldwide Foods on The Oval in Hunslet, officially opened the doors to their food retail emporium on Sunday 23rd June.
Located in the heart of Leeds, the new impressive state-of-the-art 12,000 sq ft store offers an extensive array of famous household brands from Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, as well a huge variety of fresh produce, meat and sundries.
Their immaculate halal counter boasts as one of the largest in the city.
Shoppers can find a wide variety of halal meats, as well as exotic fruits and vegetables that are hard to come by in local markets.
In addition to its diverse grocery options, the Leeds branch with ample parking space, features a dedicated ‘food-to-go’ section, providing freshly prepared meals and snacks from around the world.
This new Leeds supermarket is part of Worldwide Foods ongoing commitment to bringing global flavours to local communities across the globe.
Opening its first store in Rochdale in 1985 by Pervez Alam – the current Chairman of the Worldwide Foods group, the company has expanded by opening 12 sites in various locations in the North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands.
Included in the sites is one of Worldwide Foods company’s flagship stores under the name ‘Al Halal Supermarket’, which opened in 2021 in Leeds Road, Bradford.
The group also operates from its e-commerce website, called www.DesiMe.co.uk, from which the company can offer next day delivery to anywhere in the UK.
