Another two beautiful schools have been fully built by the Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust (KORT), and handed over to the much-needing communities in Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK).
Prior to the newly constructed school buildings, for decades, children had been taught in dilapidated areas made of corrugated sheets, or just inadequate open areas with makeshift roofing.
The new boys high school in Buglay, Pachiot District, and a girl’s high school in Khai Gala, delivered last month, are part of some 16 educational sites constructed and delivered by KORT over the last two years.
Ch Mohammed Akhtar, Chairman for KORT said: “Education breaks the cycle of poverty and desperation and it allows the children to look forward to a bright future with good careers.
“It is a very serious and difficult issue as a country cannot move forward until and unless most of its citizens are above the poverty line.
“KORT thanks all of it’s generous donors who have made it possible for us to deliver 16 educational sites across AJK, which will, no doubt, see thousands of children benefit from the educational facilities in coming years.”
